Rae Assistant Privacy Policy
Effective date: October 21, 2026
1. Who is responsible for the app
Rae Assistant (package com.minear.assistant) is published by Jakub Czarnowski.
Privacy contact: kontakt@minearium.org.
App website: https://rae-assistant.minearium.org
2. Summary
- Your documents stay on your phone. The app has no internet access and does not send your documents, their content, photos, metadata or assistant conversations anywhere.
- We do not collect data. There is no server the app could send anything to. There are no user accounts, ads, analytics or tracking. The only exception is the Google Play services described in section 5.
- The language model runs on your phone. Text recognition, organizing, search and assistant answers are computed locally on your phone's processor.
3. What data the app processes on your phone
The app processes the following only on your device:
- documents and files you choose or give access to: photos of documents, scans, PDFs and other files;
- text recognized in documents (on-device text recognition) and document data such as type, sender, amount, due date and account number;
- a search index and similarity vectors that let you find a document by words or by meaning;
- tasks, reminders, lists and app settings;
- saved signatures (an image of a signature drawn with your finger or loaded from a photo);
- assistant conversations and its answers.
This data is stored in the app's storage on your phone or in folders you choose. We have no access to it.
4. Permissions and why they are needed
- Access to files and photos: to find and organize documents. You choose the scope: single files, selected folders or (in the full-access version) the whole phone storage. You can change it at any time in your phone settings.
- Notifications: due date reminders and a notice when document analysis is finished.
- Background work (foreground service): document analysis while charging, with a visible notification.
- Calendar: the app does not read your calendar. You add an event through the system calendar screen, after you confirm it.
5. Google Play services
Some features are provided on your phone by Google Play, not by our app:
- document scanner (ML Kit Document Scanner in Google Play services);
- language model download (Google Play delivery of AI assets);
- subscription (Google Play Billing), if you buy one.
These services follow the Google Privacy Policy. The ML Kit library used by the scanner may send Google technical diagnostic data: phone model and system, app version, an installation identifier, performance metrics, input size and error codes. This does not include the content or images of your documents. Google uses it for diagnostics and usage statistics of the service and, according to the ML Kit documentation, does not transfer it to third parties.
Payments are handled by Google. We do not receive your card or Google account details. The app only learns whether a subscription is active.
6. Sharing
We do not share or sell data because we do not collect it. A document leaves the app only when you share it yourself or open it in another app (for example "Open with…" or saving to a folder you choose). From then on, the app you chose is responsible for it.
7. Retention and deletion
- App data stays on your phone until you delete it.
- You can remove a single document from the app or from the phone on its document card. Files deleted by the app first go to the app's trash, which is emptied after the period set in settings.
- Uninstalling the app deletes all data in the app's storage. Your files in phone folders stay untouched.
- There are no user accounts, so there is no account to delete.
8. Security
Your data never leaves the phone, so it is protected by your device's security. We recommend a screen lock (PIN, pattern or fingerprint). The app does not transmit data over the network because it has no internet permission.
9. AI assistant
Answers and summaries are generated by a language model on your phone. They may contain mistakes. Always check important data such as amounts, due dates and account numbers in the source document. The app does not provide legal, medical or financial advice.
10. Children
The app is not intended for children under 16 and does not knowingly collect their data.
11. Your rights
You have the right to information, access, rectification, erasure and portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Because we do not process your data on our servers, you exercise most of these rights directly in the app: correct document data, delete documents or uninstall the app. For questions, write to kontakt@minearium.org.
12. Changes
We announce changes in the app and on this page, with a new effective date. If a change ever involved sending data off your phone, we would ask for your consent before it takes effect.
